The Poker Pursuit of Happiness

26 August 2009

Poker is a game about maximizing your winnings and minimizing your losses. But sometimes other players get in the way of this strategy. So if you're sick of seemingly facing the nuts every hand, try out Casino Action's "Poker Pursuit" table game.

"Poker Pursuit" is a very basic game. You are dealt five cards, with three of them face-up. You can choose to call or raise by one coin. The fourth card is then turned. You can then choose to call or raise again with another coin before the final card is turned. If your hand is a pair of 10s or better, you win.

How you maximize your winnings and minimize your losses has to do with whether you choose to raise or just call. The more coins you have in play, the higher your winnings will be. For example, if you are dealt a pair of Kings on the flop, you will win double your bet if you decide to just call at the next two stages. Your net winnings will be one coin. But if you decide to risk two more coins and to try to hit another King, you will win a minimum of three coins, even if you don't hit the third King.

The opposite is true as well. If you have three over cards on the flop, you may raise before the turn and the river in hopes of hitting a pair. If nothing hits, then you are down three coins instead of one.

"Poker Pursuit" is a fun and fast risk/reward game that is a welcome change from traditional poker tables. Give it a shot.
