The Palm hosts 'Taste of Time' wine dinner

6 April 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- On Thursday, 13 April at 6 p.m., The Palm Casino Resort Las Vegas will host a decadent five-course dinner expertly paired with celebrated wines from Masi Agricola, a seventh-generation estate-owned vineyard in Northern Italy and one of the original producers of Amarone.

Using only varietals found in Venice, Verona and Lake Garda, Masi expertly applies the ancient Roman technique of drying grapes during the winter months to create the concentrated aromas and tastes found in each of their distinct products. Dating back to the 12th century, this technique has yielded unique wines such as Amarone, which has solidified its place as a world-famous Italian product, and Masianco, produced in the original home of pinot grigio. Both driven by great family, food and wine, Masi and The Palm are perfect partners as Masi's wines pair seamlessly with The Palm's signature dishes.

"A Taste of Time" wine dinner includes:
  • Amuse Bouche: A varying spread chosen by the executive chef.
  • First course: Sea scallop crudo served with whipped ricotta, prosciutto and fresh mint paired with Masi Masianco Pinot Grigio.
  • Second course: Lollo Rosso and frisée salad topped with toasted walnuts, crumbled goat cheese and blood orange poppy seed dressing served with Masi Bonacosta Valpolicella Classico.
  • Third course: 18-ounce, 35-day aged, espresso-rubbed prime New York strip served with purple potatoes and aged balsamic rosemary butter, accompanied by Masi Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico.
  • Fish option: Saffron ginger-crusted wild Alaskan halibut with grilled ramps.
  • Family-style vegetable and potatoes: Honey-glazed baby rainbow carrots and jalapeño and aged cheddar potato puffs.
  • Fourth course: Chocolate pots de crème with dried cherry-port wine reduction and candied hazelnuts accompanied by a glass of Masi Campofiorin Rosso del Veronese.
The culinary affair begins at 6 p.m., and tickets are $125 per person for 837 Club members and $150 for non-members.
