The Die Is Cast - Casinos Short Of Workers

MACAU – As reported by the AFP: "A threatened labour shortage in the booming gambling city of Macau became a reality last weekend when a new casino opened its doors for business even though it was short of skilled staff.

"The Casa Real Casino, the latest gaming centre of gambling tycoon Stanley Ho, opened on Saturday without its full complement of croupiers, the South China Morning Post reported.

"…Ever since foreign companies were allowed to pitch for a share of the city's century-old casino market, economists have warned that the tiny southern Chinese enclave would not have enough skilled workers to staff the more than 20 casinos that were planned…"
