The Brook donates nearly $30 million and counting24 January 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- Beyond its reputation as America’s largest charity casino, The Brook, located just over the Massachusetts-New Hampshire border, has become a beacon of hope and support for local communities, seamlessly blending entertainment with purpose. Since its transformation in 2019, The Brook has redefined what it means to give back, raising nearly $30 million for local charities while growing employment by more than 250%. In 2024 alone, over $11 million was raised for more than 100 charities. "I hope we’ve built something special here at The Brook, where every game played funds and fuels essential community service organizations," said CEO Andre Carrier, leader of the only 100% employee-owned resort casino company in the U.S. "Our work isn’t just measured in dollars or visitors but in the possibilities and resources it helps provide our community and state." Through New Hampshire’s unique charity casino model, a percentage of all games-of-chance and historical horse racing revenue is allocated to local organizations in rotating five-to-10-day cycles. These contributions have supported various vital programs, from Angel Flight NE, which arranges free air and ground medical transportation for critically ill patients, to Make-A-Wish New Hampshire, which grants life-changing wishes for children with serious illnesses. The Brook’s charitable impact extends even further. In 2024, The Brook donated $164,000 to Seacoast Mental Health Center, ensuring accessible mental health services for residents in eastern Rockingham County. Additionally, Gather, a Seacoast nonprofit combating food insecurity, received over $96,000 in contributions. Since July 2024, Gather’s Seabrook Mobile Markets have distributed over 26,000 pounds of food, valued at $52,280, to more than 1,200 people. “The Brook’s investment in addressing food scarcity helps us serve over 10,300 members at our Pantry Market and even more through our Mobile Markets,” said Patte Ardizzoni, Gather’s Development and Communications Director. “In addition, their generous $25,000 matching donation enabled us to replace one of our essential trucks, allowing us to continue delivering fresh, nutritious food to those in need. Thanks to The Brook’s partnership, we’re able to provide nourishment, stability, and hope to thousands in our community every day.” Jay Couture, President and CEO of Seacoast Mental Health Center, added: “The substantial philanthropic contribution from The Brook had an immediate and profound impact on our mission. We are extremely grateful for the partnership.” |
