The Brook and The Poker Room in NH temporarily close

18 March 2020

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Brook in Seabrook, N.H., America’s largest charity casino, will temporarily pause all casino and food operations on Tuesday, 17 March, and The Poker Room in Hampton Falls, N.H. will temporarily pause all operations on 17 March as well, as a precaution to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Eureka Casino Resorts, which owns and operates both properties, has committed to provide all employees a two-week paid leave of absence.

“As a 100% employee-owned family business, the safety of both our guests and our team has always been and will always be our number one priority,” said Eureka Casino Resort President Andre Carrier. “The Eureka Way guides us to be a strong community partner. After hearing the recommendations of state and global public health authorities, we decided the best way we can be of service is to suspend casino and food and beverage operations.”

“To our many longtime guests, stay healthy, stay strong,” Carrier continued. “Please know we are profoundly thankful for the care and interest you take in our company and our employee-owners. We are all looking forward to the day we welcome you back; until then, keep those card games going, entertaining those you love around the family kitchen table.”

While there will not be any casino operations or food and beverage service, The Brook will allow players to access self-service, pari-mutuel wagering terminals for simulcast racing, for the time being.
