The Bicycle Casino presents 32nd annual Home for the Holidays event16 November 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Bicycle Hotel & Casino with support from The Bicycle Casino Community Foundation and in conjunction with The City of Bell Gardens and Senator Ricardo Lara will host the 32nd Annual Home for the Holidays event on Wednesday, 21 December 2016, offering a helping hand during the holidays for low-income families in the Bell Gardens district. The mission for Home for the Holidays is to continue to provide a celebratory holiday dinner and an ever-lasting memory to low-income families who face financial hardship. This year approximately 1500 individuals from 400 households are expected to attend and enjoy the full complement of holiday fun including a festive holiday dinner basket, a special photo with Santa, lunch for all attendees, carnival-style rides, games, a petting zoo, face painting, clowns, and cartoon caricatures. Each child departs the magical day with a Christmas present and a day full of special memories. Applications to participate in the event may be picked up on or after 15 November 2016 at the Bell Gardens City Hall. The deadline to return completed applications is 30 November 2016 to Coldwell Banker, office of Pedro Aceituno, 6730 Florence Avenue, Bell Gardens, CA 90201 (City Hall will not be accepting applications). All applications will be reviewed for proper eligibility and tickets for those selected families will be distributed the week of 12 December, 2016. "It takes great collaboration and support to be able to continue important and necessary programs like Home for the Holidays that benefit the low-income families of Bell Gardens." Participating in this event are volunteers from local high schools, active team members and their young adult children who have grown-up attending this celebration in previous years who wish to reciprocate the gesture shown by past volunteers. The Bicycle Hotel & Casino began this tradition of hosting an Annual Children's Christmas Event over 30 years ago and has touched the lives of over 1500 families each year. The Bike is excited to be able to continue this time-honored tradition for the community and looks forward to hosting this event for years to come. |
