Thai Police Target Soccer Gambling

THAILAND – As reported by the Bangkok Post: "A metropolitan police centre has been formed to combat soccer gambling around the clock during the Euro 2004 soccer tournament.

"…Metropolitan Police Bureau chief Pol Lt-Gen Thani Somboonsap said the bureau was expecting to arrest soccer gamblers on the first day.

"…Bangkok police stations would target major bookies and gamblers, especially those around Ramkhamhaeng University where soccer gambling was rampant, he said…"
