Texas Star Casino names manager

FREEPORT, Texas – As reported by the Facts: "Texas Star Casino has a new operations manager and is targeting a mid-July opening for offshore gambling on its 167-foot boat, about two years after the company originally planned to open.

"Larry Kirkland was appointed manager of casino boat operations Jan. 8, replacing former operations chief Michael O'Brien. Kirkland said O'Brien resigned.

"Grant Poynor, a spokesman for casino boat owner C.J. Perme and Branson, Mo.-based Grand Crown Resorts, talked Tuesday about a slew of problems that have plagued the casino boat, including the company's own ineptness…"
