Texas Official Supports Legalized Casinos

TEXAS – As reported by the Dallas Morning News: "If casino gambling ever becomes legal in Texas, Carrollton City Council member Ron Branson wants the city to be prepared to seize an opportunity.

"…He, with the support of other council members, asked city staff to look into the feasibility of putting a casino on a 262-acre tract of undeveloped city land.

"The site, on the southeast corner of Interstate 35E and State Highway 121, may be attractive because of its highway access but poses too many development challenges, City Manager Leonard Martin said.

"…Mr. Branson said that he thinks a casino would lure additional development to Carrollton and that he would consider another site if the city's land couldn't be used…"
