Terry Fator to perform at Hard Rock in Tulsa on July 2017 May 2013TULSA, Okla. (PRESS RELEASE) -- Terry Fator has been labeled "one of the best entertainers on the planet," and the singer, comedian and celebrity impressionist has the accolades to back it up. On July 20, Fator brings his sensational comedy show to The Joint inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. Tickets start at $50 and go on sale June 6. Backed by a live band, Fator brings to life a wide range of puppets, including Winston the impersonating turtle, Monty Carlo the lounge singer and country legend Walter T. Airdale. During his performance, Fator shares comedic banter with a character and incorporates vocal impressions of musical superstars such as Garth Brooks, Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, Dean Martin and many more. He is capable of doing more than 100 impersonations and typically uses 16 puppets in an act. Since 2009, Fator has wowed sold-out audiences five nights a week in his namesake theater at The Mirage in Las Vegas. His work has earned numerous awards, including this year's "Best of Las Vegas" awards for Best Show, Best All-Around Performer, Best Impersonator and Best Overall Show. The 47-year-old recently signed an extension to keep him at The Mirage through 2016, five years after signing a $100 million deal to headline his own theater. The Dallas native nearly gave up on his dreams in early 2007 when he performed for an audience of one 12-year-old boy in a 1,000-seat theater. Within months, he was convinced to audition for the second season of "America's Got Talent," where he was chosen to compete, making his first national appearance. Fator's goal was to repeat the success of a first-season ventriloquist who appeared a few times before exiting and landing an appearance on "Late Show with David Letterman." He exceeded his own expectations by cruising to the championship and ultimately winning $1 million. |
