Tennessee Casino a Long Shot

TENNESSEE – As reported by the (Tennessee) Commercial Appeal: "Casinos could come to Shelby County through a state constitutional amendment, if Rep. Larry Miller has his way.

"'It's going to be a tough fight, I'll say that right off the bat,' said Miller, D-Memphis, after filing House Joint Resolution 788, which calls for casino gambling to be allowed only in Shelby County. 'It wouldn't hurt to discuss it, at least.'

"Miller said The Pyramid could be a casino, but added, 'It could be Mud Island. It could be a boat on the waters.'

"…Shelby County commissioner John Willingham, a proponent of a Pyramid casino, said the resolution is a long shot worth launching…"
