Team pleads guilty to horse-doping

SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York -- As reported by the Albany Times-Union: "A father and son team pleaded guilty Wednesday to administering cobra snake venom to a horse they ran at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway in what prosecutors say is the first guilty plea for horse-doping in Saratoga County.

"William Barrack, 68, and Keith Barrack, 42, both of Beacon, Dutchess County, admitted in Saratoga County Court that they willfully injected snake venom into the horse Disco Force A at the harness track on Oct. 26, 2006, county District Attorney James A. Murphy III said.

"The men pleaded guilty to felony interference with a domestic animal and will be sentenced Aug. 31 in County Court, Murphy said..."
