Team 888 Poker scoops two WSOP bracelets14 June 2011GIBRALTAR -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Only 19 events into the 42nd Annual World Series of Poker and Team 888 Poker have already secured two bracelet wins. First with Tyler Bonkowski’s victory in event #14, $3000 Limit Hold’em and now Darren Woods has locked down a triumph in event #19, $2500 Limit Hold’em/ Six Handed. Darren Woods defeated a field 353 players over 3 days to reach a finish that awarded him with a coveted WSOP bracelet and $213,431 in prize money. The final heads-up in the Limit Hold’em/ Six Handed event saw Darren up against female poker player, Kim Nguyen. Woods very quickly gained momentum against Nguyen and it was only an hour and a half into the heads-up match that the final hand commenced. Nguyen raised on the button, Woods re-raised, Nguyen went all in and Darren jumped to make the call. Nguyen held Ks 2c against Woods,4h 2h. The flop, Kh 4d 6s Js, put Nguyen in the lead until the 4c hit the river and locked Woods in for the win with trip 4’s. The days are early for this year’s WSOP and Team 888poker plan to bring several more wins before it is all said and done. With this momentum, 2011 could be the year that a member of Team 888poker will take home the World Series of Poker Championship. Possibly 888poker Team Captain, Shane Warne, who will take a seat at the main event on July 9th , will spin his way to the victory.
