Taverns reopen after gambling raid

ANDERSON, Indiana – As reported by the East Indiana Star Press: " Seven taverns accused of being fronts for John Neal's video gambling racket have reopened and six more will reopen soon, Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings said Monday.

"Cummings obtained a court order last month to shut down 23 taverns in Madison, Delaware and Henry counties after presenting evidence they were involved in racketeering activity, video gambling and money laundering.

"…All of the reopened bars will be allowed to serve alcohol and will be operated by the same proprietors that operated them before they were raided by Anderson police, state excise police and the FBI on Sept. 18, Cummings said..."
