Tatts, Tabcorp ads under scrutiny

VICTORIA, Australia -- As reported by the Age: "Victoria's pokie giants, Tatts and Tabcorp, may have broken the state's tough anti-pokie advertising laws.

"The gaming giants are offering visitors to pokie venues the chance to win a car or house by spending $20 at their local venue, in widespread ad campaigns in newspapers (pictured) and on TV .

"In 2003, Victoria introduced laws banning pokie ads. Then gaming minister John Pandazopoulos said the ban would 'ensure that Victorians are not exposed to advertising outside a venue or the casino that may encourage them to play the pokies'..."
