Tasmania: Woman who stole from employer jailed7 October 2009TASMANIA -- As reported by ABC Australia News: "A northern Tasmanian woman who stole nearly $200,000 from her former employer has been jailed for at least nine months. "Sallee Ann Peck, 39, pleaded guilty to dishonestly acquiring a financial advantage. "The Supreme Court in Launceston heard Peck stole the money over more than five years from the Country Club Casino and Hotel at Prospect when she worked in the accounts department. "...Peck's lawyer said she stole the money to help pay for private school fees and day-to-day expenses for her two children..." |
