Tasmania Urged to Increase Problem Gambling Funding7 June 2005TASMANIA, Australia – As reported by the Mercury: "The State Government should increase its allocation from gambling-derived revenue to help prevent gambling problems and alleviate the impact. "This was one of 24 recommendations made in a report into problem gambling among low-income earners released by Anglicare Tasmania yesterday. "The report also called for a ban on gambling advertising outside gaming venues and a reduction in the number of poker machines in hotels and clubs when the contract is next negotiated.
