Talking Stick Resort wins "Best Place to Work" award7 December 2015(PRESS RELEASE) -- Talking Stick Resort, an enterprise of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC), has been recognized as a bronze winner for "Best Place to Work-Large Company" in the Best in Biz Awards 2015, the only independent business awards program judged by press and industry analysts. The annual competition has been in existence for five years. "We are honored and truly grateful for the prestigious award," said Ramon Martinez, director of public relations for Talking Stick Resort. "We take pride in creating a supportive and encouraging work environment across all of our departments. This award applauds our efforts and reiterates the fact that Talking Stick Resort is one of the leading organizations in the country." More than 600 companies located in the U.S. and Canada submitted their business for consideration, marking the highest number of entries to date. Sixty award categories were available and included "Most Innovative Company of the Year," "Fastest-Growing Company of the Year" and "Company of the Year," just to name a few. In order to receive an award for the "Best Place to Work-Large Company," businesses with at least 1,000 employees were required to demonstrate employee satisfaction and a collection of employee well-being programs such as mentoring, flexible work arrangements, financial and lifestyle perks. An independent judging panel of 46 gave each candidate a score and the companies with the highest marks were deemed winners. The judging panel featured various representatives with admired backgrounds including contributors to ABC, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Forbes, Small Business Digest and Buffalo News. "Judging the 5th annual Best in Biz Awards was a difficult decision because all of the applicants in this year’s program were very impressive," said Brian Bandell, a reporter with South Florida Business Journal. Since opening in 2010, Talking Stick Resort has received numerous accolades for its positive workplace culture and has been praised for its apprenticeship program for SRPMIC enrolled members, Pathways to Success. In 2014, the AAA Four Diamond property was named a Silver winner for "Best Places to Work" in the Best in Biz Awards 2014 International competition. |
