Sydney casino sues tax office

SYDNEY, Australia -- As reported by the Australia News.com:"Sydney's Star City casino is crying foul over a rejected tax-deduction claim for $120 million rent payment from 1994 and has taken the tax office to court.

"Six separate matters have been listed in the Federal Court in Melbourne over the refused tax deduction.

"Star City spokesman Peter Grimshaw said the matters relate to the company's claim for a deduction of the payment which covered the site's rental from 1995 to 2005.

"...He said that claim was rejected by the Australian Taxation Office..."
