Sweden survey: More people gambled last year

(PRESS RELEASE) -- An annual survey was conducted by the Swedish Gambling Authority to find out swedes' gambling habits. The survey was conducted at the end of November 2021 in cooperation with the research company SKOP.

The survey shows, among other things, that:
  • 73% of Swedes have gambled for money in the last 12 months. This is an increase of 7% points compared to the 2020 survey.
  • 29% of those who have played in the last year play weekly, which is at the same level as the previous previous measurement.
  • 75% of players have played lotteries and number games, which is the most common form of gambling.
  • 86% of all players play at home, an increase of 7 percentage points compared to 2020.
  • 59% of those who have played in the past year know the self-exclusion register Spelpaus.se. In 2020, the figure was 57%.
