SugarHouse casino wins ruling7 March 2007PHILADELIPHIA – As reported by the South Jersey Courier Post Online: "An out-of-county judge on Tuesday sided with the owners of a planned casino by invalidating the signatures gathered by anti-gambling activists that could stop the development of two gambling halls along Philadelphia's waterfront. "Judge Ward F. Clark of Bucks County agreed with SugarHouse Casino in the county's Common Pleas Court, which challenged the 27,254 signatures submitted last month by Casino Free Philadelphia. The group wanted a citywide referendum on May 15 to change the city charter and ban casinos from operating 1,500 feet from any home, school or church.
