Study: Casino Would Boost Wisconsin County Economy

WISCONSIN – As reported by the Milwaukee Business Journal: "A proposed casino, hotel and entertainment center at Dairyland Greyhound Park in Kenosha would result in 4,700 to 6,000 new jobs in the area and have an annual economic impact of more than $500 million, according to a preliminary economic analysis released Tuesday by developers.

"The casino plan at the greyhound racing track was resurrected earlier this month by the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and Kenesah Gaming Development L.L.C., a Kenosha development company formed for the project. A prior plan by the Menominee tribe to locate an off-reservation casino at the site was abandoned in 2001.

"The developers released a preliminary economic analysis and said that the 160,000-square-foot casino project would include an upscale 200-room hotel, several restaurants, high-tech conference and meeting facilities, and a possible indoor water park…"
