Study: Beloit Casino Wouldn't Hurt Others

BELOIT, Wisconsin – As reported by the Rockford Register Star: "A casino in Beloit won't hurt revenues at other casinos in southern Wisconsin or northern Illinois, says a study done for the two tribes spearheading the Beloit effort.

"The study, done by CBRE, a market-strategy group with Global Gaming Group of Las Vegas, ends the formal application process to the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs for the St. Croix Chippewa and Bad River Chippewa tribes.

" 'We are pleased the study summary supports the same conclusions we've come to,' said Joe Hunt, spokesman for the Beloit project.

"He said the study was prompted by concerns from the Ho-Chunk tribe, which runs facilities in Madison and Milwaukee, as well as those expressed by Illinois officials.

"…The Beloit project would be much larger than gaming facilities in Illinois…"
