Stone Temple Pilots to perform at California casino10 September 2010INDIO, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Grammy, American Music and MTV Video Music Award winners Stone Temple Pilots released a brand new album at the beginning of this summer. It debuted on the Billboard 200 at number two. Stone Temple Pilot fans can see singer Scott Weiland and the rest of the band play favorites such as "Vasoline," "Interstate Love Song," "Plush" and "Big Empty" live at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Saturday, October 30th at 8pm. This concert makes a fitting night for Halloween weekend as Weiland is no stranger to costumes on stage. Stone Temple Pilots formed in Long Beach, CA but began booking club shows and building a fan base in San Diego, CA in the late 1980s and early 1990s. They released their first studio album, Core, in 1992. It quickly rose to the number three spot on the Billboard chart fueled by hits such as "Sex Type Thing" and "Plush." Stone Temple Pilots have six subsequent albums to their name and have sold more than 40 million records worldwide, according to MTV.com.
