Steve Earle and the Dukes to perform at Cherokee Casino27 April 2019(PRESS RELEASE) -- With his breakthrough album “Guitar Town,” Steve Earle began making his mark on the music scene and hasn’t slowed since. On 23 May, Steve Earle and the Dukes take the Qualla Ballroom stage inside Cherokee Casino & Hotel West Siloam Springs for an intimate performance. Performance begins at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available at the hotel front desk and on our website. Earle began his career as a songwriter in Nashville and released his first EP in 1982. His 1986 album included a Top 10 title track and the song “Goodbye’s All We Got Left.” Since then, Earle has released 15 other studio albums, including “Copperhead Road” in 1988 and “Transcendental Blues” in 2000. He’s received three Grammy awards, along with the Americana Music Awards’ “Spirit of Americana” Free Speech Award in 2004. His songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, Shawn Colvin, Ian Stuart Donaldson and Emmylou Harris. Earle’s latest album, “Guy,” is a tribute to his old mentor, Guy Clark. It includes 16 songs written by Clark, like “L.A. Freeway,” “Desperados Waiting For A Train,” “The Randall Knife,” “Heartbroke” and “Old Friends,” which have had a significant influence on Earle throughout his career. |
