Station Slates Fiesta Takeover Time3 January 2001LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Jan. 3, 2001 – As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal: “Station Casinos is expected to take control of the Fiesta at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Gaming Control Board officials said Tuesday. ”…Station Casinos agreed to pay $185 million for the North Las Vegas property to the Fiesta's operators, an ownership group led by George Maloof. ”…Las Vegas' dominant local casino operator has said it expects to maintain the Fiesta's name and `Royal Flush Capital of the World’ slogan, and plans no expansion of the Rancho Drive casino. ”Kevin Kelley, Station Casinos' president of West Las Vegas operations, said in December that the Fiesta will continue to target value-conscious customers ”The company acquired the Santa Fe in northwest Las Vegas in October and renamed it Santa Fe Station. Station Casinos' $70 million purchase of The Reserve in Henderson is scheduled to be considered by Nevada gaming regulators later this month…” |
