State to Produce National Cable TV Ads for Tourism6 January 2004NEVADA -- As reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal: ``To the world, Nevada is all about slot machines and a roll of the dice. ``But now the state is about to begin selling a new vision of Nevada in a television campaign that is set to appear on cable channels from coast to coast starting in February. ``…Although the ads haven't been produced yet, the state's ad agency offers this possibility: ``A long, sweeping shot of a Nevada road in the distance, with the words, "In Nevada, all roads lead to adventure, but you still need a guide." ``The montage of images would speed up gradually, with matching high-energy music to help strip away the perception of the Silver State as a desolate place punctuated by casinos. Images of rivers, Lake Tahoe, hikers, kayakers, fishing holes, off-road motor sports, skiing and camping would appear. ``…The general thrust of the Nevada Commission on Tourism's television campaign is to entice viewers to request a travel guide by calling the 800 number or visiting NCOT's Web site, www.travelnevada.com…" |
