St. Louis Casinos Post Positive Results

ST. LOUIS, Missouri – As reported by the St. Louis Business Journal: "The six St. Louis area casinos overall posted positive results in December, the Missouri Gaming Commission and Illinois Gaming Board reported.

"Harrah's St. Louis Casino and Hotel in Maryland Heights had a slight revenue increase in December of 2 percent to $25.2 million, up from $24.8 million in December 2004.

"…Argosy Gaming's Alton Belle Casino in Alton posted a 1 percent decrease in revenue to $12.3 million,in December, compared with $12.5 million in the same month the previous year.

"…Ameristar Casino St. Charles reported one of the largest revenue jumps with a 6 percent increase to $26.3 million in December from $24.8 million in December 2004, while its admissions declined 7 percent to 860,021 from 922,472 in December the previous year.

"The President Casino also posted a 6 percent revenue jump to $5.9 million in December, up from $5.6 in the same month the previous year.

"…The Casino Queen in East St. Louis reported a 2 percent revenue increase in December to $14 million from $13.6 million in the same month the previous year.

"…The Alton Belle reported a slight revenue growth of 1 percent from $9.1 million the in December 2004 to $9.2 million in December 2005…"
