St. Louis-Area Gaming Revenue Rises

MISSOURI – As reported by the St. Louis Business Journal: "Gaming revenue for the St. Louis market's Missouri riverboats totaled $670 million in fiscal 2005, up 9.6 percent from $611.3 million the prior year, according to statistics the Missouri Gaming Commission released.

"The St. Louis area's Missouri casinos, which include the President Casino, Ameristar Casino St. Charles and Harrah's, reported a combined customer total of 10.9 million for fiscal 2005, which ended June 30. This represents a decrease of 0.9 percent from 11 million customers the prior year, the agency said Monday.

"The area's Missouri casinos' win per patron was $61.26 for fiscal 2005, up 10.6 percent from $55.37 the prior year.

"The area's Missouri boats' gain mainly reflects the higher revenue despite a slight decrease in patron volume on a high win per patron due mainly to the $85 million expansion at Harrah's, the agency said.
