Springfield Mayor joins effort to block ballot on casino law repeal21 February 2014SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts -- The Mayor of Springfield along with other residents has joined the fight to prevent a question going on the ballot that could see the repeal of gaming laws, The Republication reported. The ballot is the work of anti-gambling elements who want the laws repealed, the report said. This follows the approval of Massachusetts expanded gambling bill in 2011, which will see three additional casinos and a slots parlour, according to the Republican. A decision will be issued by July 9th it is hoped, the report made note. |
