Spring into warmer weather just outside Las Vegas

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Visitors looking to enjoy warmer temperatures in the great outdoors and chart-topping entertainment can find a variety of thrilling activities in Boulder City, Laughlin and Mesquite this spring.

Boulder City

Scenic Golfing
With five stunning courses, visitors can enjoy a little bit of everything in Boulder City. Featuring beautiful lakes, streams and wildlife, Cascata Golf Club is an ideal place to play and spend a day in Boulder City. The meticulously manicured, 72-par course is one of Nevada’s premier golf destinations with remarkable vistas at every turn and a luxurious 37,000-square-foot clubhouse where guests can relax when not on the greens. Boulder Creek Golf Club is a 27-hole facility created for golfers of every skill level. Oasis-themed holes feature palm trees, beach bunkers, lakes and waterfalls. Golfers can also check out Boulder City Golf Course for wide-open fairways, two lakes and a clubhouse, as well as a driving range where visitors can practice their swing or take golf lessons.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area
Famous for its connection to the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States. Lake Mead National Recreation Area is made up of the 112-mile-long lake, and includes trails, scenic drives and campsites for those looking for a quick outdoor escape. The recreation area is open year-round, 24 hours a day and offers a variety of outdoor activities including water sports, with several outfitters offering gear rentals and tours. Adventure companies like Vegas Glass Kayaks, Blazin’ Paddles and Evolution Expeditions offer a variety of kayaking options for every skill level and desired experience. Visitors can partake in leisurely tours through Black Canyon or excursions from the Hoover Dam down the Colorado River.

River Mountains Loop Trail
This long loop winds through the quaint town of Boulder City, quickly escaping to the more primitive desert surrounding the River Mountains. To the east, visitors can enjoy views of Lake Mead with several places to pause and admire the scenery. The trail then winds through the suburban City of Henderson before returning to Boulder City. This trail is great for hiking, climbing and cycling.

Art Mural Walking Tour
From unique sculptures to vibrant murals, visitors can enjoy Boulder City’s eclectic art scene by simply taking a leisurely stroll. To navigate the town’s art tour, a downloadable map is available that highlights pieces by artists such as Connie Burnett Ferraro and Patty Sullivan. Desert Adventures
Founded in 2004, Desert Adventures provides unforgettable day trips that include hiking, mountain biking, ATV tours, horseback riding, ziplines and more in nearby destinations like Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and Grand Canyon National Park. The company is known for its expertise in paddling and has 175 boats in its rental fleet, as well as other camping and outdoor gear available to rent.

Lake Mead Cruises
One of the best ways to beat the heat, Lake Mead Cruises takes visitors up close and personal to the Hoover Dam in a giant paddle-wheel boat that recalls 19th-century Mississippi River boats. The cruises operate Wednesday through Sunday, offering scenic sunset rides from April through October.


Rock Out in Laughlin

Get Out On The Water
Laughlin offers a multitude of water attractions, from kayaking and jet boat tours to dinner cruises and water taxis. Canoes and kayaks offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy the water while exploring the natural environment. Desert River Outfitters offers plenty of paddling enjoyment around historic sites, inside deep canyons and near picturesque rock formations along the Colorado River.

Cruise the Colorado River
Laughlin is known for its optimal location along the Colorado River. With a wide variety of available river tours and rentals, visitors can enjoy this natural feature in more ways than one. London Bridge Jet Boat Tours allows guests to experience the river and all its wonder in a sleek and quick jet boat. Those looking for a more relaxed tour of the river can enjoy the only dinner cruise on the Colorado River by Laughlin River Tours, or board the U.S.S. Riverside for a guided excursion, detailing the history of the region and the Colorado River.

Hike the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Trail
This experience is one of the best ways to get out and hike in the picturesque desert wilderness and enjoy 10.5 miles of light trails that run alongside the Colorado River. The Colorado River Heritage Greenway Trail features unique desert wildlife and natural formations along the way, taking visitors to the base of Davis Dam, a wonder of American engineering.

Enjoy the Golfing Scene
With six courses in three states, golf enthusiasts have a plethora of options when planning an enjoyable golf outing in Laughlin. Each of the courses offer impeccably manicured greens, unique character and options for golfers of all skill levels. With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, golfers can hit the greens year-round at courses including El Rio Golf Club, Huukan Golf Club, Laughlin Ranch Golf Club, Los Lagos Gold Club, Mojave Resort Golf Club and Rivers Edge Golf Club.

Discover the Laughlin Labyrinths
Uncover the beauty and serenity of the Laughlin desert by exploring the nearby labyrinths, which consist of nine stone mazes within a quarter-mile radius, ranging from 25-55 feet. Visitors can check out the collection’s newest additions: a 36-foot, seven-circuit octagon and a 33-foot, seven-circuit square labyrinth. Marked by a monument marker with a purple etched disc, the labyrinths can be found on the east side of Thomas Edison Drive, between Bruce Woodbury and Casino Drives, a quarter mile from the intersection.


CasaBlanca Spring II-Man Golf Tournament
The popular II-Man tournament will return to the CasaBlanca Golf Club from Friday, 24 May through Sunday, 26 May. The three-day tournament takes place across three championship golf courses with up to 150 teams.

Tee Up a Great Day On the Green
Golf is one of the top Mesquite attractions featuring courses within 10 minutes of the destination’s hotels. The dramatic Virgin Mountain foothills cradle the courses, each offering a unique playing experience at CasaBlanca Golf Club, Conestoga Golf Club, The Coyote Springs Golf Club, Coyote Willows Golf Course, Falcon Ridge Golf Course, Oasis Golf Club, Palms Golf Club and Wolf Creek Golf Club.

Gold Butte National Monument
Established in 2016, the Gold Butte National Monument is one of the newest national monuments and includes 350,000 acres of rugged and remote landscape, where visitors will find chiseled red sandstone, tree-clad mountains and twisting canyons in a stretch of the Mojave Desert. Little Finland is part of the Gold Butte National Monument, where a plateau of orange/red Aztec sandstone has been eroded into intricate and complex forms in an area of 2,000-by-400 feet.

The Desert Ranch Experience by Camel Safari
Situated on 176 acres along the Virgin River and just one hour north of Las Vegas, visitors can experience the desert in a new and unique way by learning about and interacting with several exotic animals such as camels, sloths, llamas and sand cats. Tours are available via tram or ATV.

Skydive Mesquite
A member of the United States Parachute Association, Skydive Mesquite offers the largest full-service drop zone in Nevada. Whether it’s a thrill seeker’s first jump or 1,000th, the team at Skydive Mesquite is prepared to help visitors jump over the picturesque Nevada desert.
