Spotlight 29 shines light on New Edition

17 July 2007

COACHELLA, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- They have sold more than 40 million albums and scored hit after chart-topping hit, and now New Edition is coming to Spotlight 29 Casino on August 4.

New Edition, comprised of the most striking voices in R&B -- Johnny Gill, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant, Ricky Bell and Ronnie Devoe -- have been entertaining fans and topping music charts since the mid-1980s.

The band has gone through variations over time, and its members have had successful solo careers, and now New Edition is enjoying the glow of their eighth album, "One Love." Decidedly not a reunion album, "One Love" features songs produced by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

"It feels like a reunion to the public," Ronnie has said, "but we never considered ourselves broken up." Johnny added with a smile, "We might have separated, but we never got the divorce."

Success came early to the close-knit group of Boston friends, and they have a string of number one hits to their credit, including "Candy Girl," "Is This The End," "Mr. Telephone Man," "A Little Bit of Love," "Can You Stand the Rain" and "Hit Me Off."

Tickets from $40 are available now at Spotlight29.com and at the Spotlight 29 Casino Gift Shop or by calling (800) 585-3737.

Put the spotlight on headliner entertainment at Spotlight 29 Casino, the Coachella Valley's most exciting place to play. Spotlight 29 Casino is a business venture of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians.
