Spotlight 29 hosts ladies only tournament

20 June 2007

COACHELLA, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Move over boys; this one's for the girls! Registration is available now for Spotlight 29 Casino's first Ladies Only Poker Tournament!

The No Limit Texas Hold'em event takes place July 8 in the casino's Poker Room. Check in is 1 p.m. and the first round begins at 2 p.m. Ladies interested in playing it big can sign up today by visiting the casino's Poker Room. For just a $50 entry fee, participants receive $5,000 in tournament chips, and rounds last 20 minutes each. There are no re-buys and no add-ons.

The prize pool is based on the number of contestants, and ladies are encouraged to bring their friends to play.

Spotlight 29 Casino Poker Room Supervisor Keri Downs is organizing the event. She said, "We always have something fun going on in our Poker Room, and I wanted to do something just for the ladies. Our Poker Room is very friendly, and all the women who play are going to have a blast. And maybe win some money, too!"

In addition to the Ladies Only Poker Tourney, Spotlight 29 Casino will soon be hosting the All-Star Poker Challenge, scheduled for October 13 and 14. Football Hall of Fame inductee Deacon Jones is scheduled to appear, among others. All players are welcome to register to play. Entry fee is $560, and entries are available now at the Spotlight 29 Casino Box Office and Gift Shop.

Of course, the Poker Room has tournaments and fun for everyone every week. Go all in every Friday at 6 p.m. for the MVP Poker Challenge, with an easy $60 buy-in to play. Saturday nights is the $2,000 Poker Payoff, where players can win cash in hourly drawings that start at 5 p.m. and go through midnight. Sundays join the $20/$5/$5 No Limit Texas Hold'em tourney.

Or sit in on the daily Sit & Go Tournament. This winner-take-all tournament takes just nine to ten players and occur spontaneously throughout the day. Contact the Poker Room for more information.

Put the spotlight on hot poker action at Spotlight 29 Casino, the Coachella Valley's most exciting place to play. Spotlight 29 Casino is a business venture of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians.
