Spot-fixing cricket trial players sentenced4 November 2011PAKISTAN AND ENGLAND -- Lengthy jail sentences were handed out yesterday in the cricket spot-fixing trial, The Guardian reported. Salman Butt, the former Pakistan Cricket captain was given a 30 month sentence, while bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir received a year sentence and a six month sentence respectively, the report said. All three players face five year cricket bans from the International Cricket Council, The Guardian said. |
