Special EFX All Stars and Arrested Development coming to Aliante Casino8 January 2020(PRESS RELEASE) -- Aliante Casino Hotel and Spa is bringing highly-acclaimed entertainment to Access Showroom in February, featuring jazz fusion group Special EFX All Stars and Grammy Award-winning hip-hop group Arrested Development. February entertainment will also include free live performances at Aliante’s fine dining destination, MRKT Sea & Land throughout the month. Access Showroom Special EFX All Stars Sunday, 16 February Formed in 1982, the contemporary jazz supergroup Special EFX All Stars has been recording and performing hits for more than 35 years. The band is made up of some of the most accomplished and daring musicians in contemporary jazz, including the acclaimed guitarist and composer Chieli Minucci, celebrated vocalist Elliott Yamin, world-famous saxophonist Nelson Rangell, violinist virtuoso Karen Briggs, renowned bassist Gerald Veasley, rising keyboardist Lao Tizer and drummer extraordinaire Gene Coye. Most recently, Special EFX All Stars released their award-winning record “Deep as the Night” in 2017, bringing audiences their melodic and refreshing jazz sounds. Arrested Development Saturday, 29 February Since 1991, Arrested Development has been best-known as a trailblazing hip-hop group that has brought uplifting music to fans, featuring a vibrant and unique blend of African rhythms and sounds. Arrested Development has released numerous albums throughout their career, including “3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life of…,” which earned them two Grammy Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, a Soul Train Music Award and the NCAAP Image Award. Rolling Stone magazine named them Band of The Year in 1992, while VH1 named them one of the greatest hip-hop groups of all time. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame even named the group’s smash hit, “Tennessee,” one of the 500 songs that shaped rock ‘n’ roll. Audiences will enjoy Arrested Development’s performances of their top songs, including “Tennessee,” “People Every Day,” “Mr. Wendal,” “Revolution,” “Natural,” “Mama’s Always on Stage,” “Africa’s Inside Me” and more.
