Southern Ute casino to open next year

IGNACIO, Colorado – Farmington Daily Times: "Less than 18 months remain until the Southern Ute Tribe plans to open the doors at its new Sky Ute Casino, a facility it says will be one of the largest ever constructed in the Four Corners.

"The casino will more than triple it's current size. It will include a variety of new entertainment options, such as putt-putt golf, an indoor pool and lazy river, and a 24-lane bowling alley. The site also will incorporate a hotel with at least 100 rooms and several restaurants.

"…The tribe decided to build the casino after conducting market studies that showed the existing facility had been outgrown. It described the casino as a family destination but said it also will accommodate business and convention travelers. They hope it will bring a multitude of new tourists not only to Ignacio, Colo., but to the entire Four Corners area…"
