South Carolina Gambling Regulations Challenged

SOUTH CAROLINA – As reported by the Myrtle Beach Sun News:" The ink isn't dry on the county's new regulations on gambling vessels but is already being challenged by casino boat owner Wallace Cheves.

"The ordinance, which faces third reading Tuesday night before Georgetown County Council, blocks casino boats from docking too close to churches, day-care centers or schools.

"On Friday, a reconsideration hearing will be held before Judge Jackson Gregory to determine whether the boats will be allowed to operate at all in Georgetown County. Jackson last month ruled that casino boats can operate in the county…"
