South Carolina Casino Hearing Considered15 September 2004GEORGETOWN, South Carolina – As reported by the (South Carolina) Sun News: "County residents could be asked by next month how they feel about casino boats and what new zoning laws should regulate their location in the county. "The Georgetown County Planning Commission, which meets Thursday, will consider having a public hearing in October on possible new regulations to govern the floating businesses. "…'Courts look more favorably on regulation instead of prohibition,' said County Attorney "Mac" Tolar. "We're treating casino boats like any other business in the county."
