South African Casino Will Honor Jackpots

SOUTH AFRICA – As reported by the (South Africa) Cape Times: "Grandwest Casino will honour jackpot payouts totalling R355 970(US$ 53,561) to six punters following Monday's computer glitch on some of the casino's slot machines.

"This decision followed an investigation by the casino into the malfunction, after the punters complained about being refused payment when the slot machines showed that they had hit the jackpot.

"…[GrandWest general manager, Kurt Peter,] said the type of computer problem experienced on Monday was not common and that they constantly checked their systems…"
