South Africa Board Admits to Casino Problems29 September 2006SOUTH AFRICA – As reported by The IOL News:"The National Gambling Board has admitted that statements made recently by Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni that some casinos might not be helping police catch money launderers, are correct. "At a recent business breakfast, Mboweni said cash-in-transit robbers were using casinos to launder stolen money, and the casinos were not helping them to catch the thieves. "On Thursday, National Gambling Board chairperson Chris Fismer said, after reviewing the facts associated with Mboweni's statements, that he agreed with Mboweni's take on the matter…" |
