Solihull wins large casino license

SOLIHULL, England – As reported by the icSolihull: "After the bitter disappointment of losing its bid for the country's first super-casino, Solihull has gained compensation by winning the race for a scaled-down gambling attraction.

"The Government's Casino Advisory Panel (CAP) announced yesterday that the borough council's proposal to build a 'large casino' at the NEC had been successful, beating off competition from Dudley and Wolverhampton.

"…As well as Solihull, licences for large casinos were granted to Great Yarmouth, Kingston-upon-Hull, Leeds, Middlesbrough, Milton Keynes, Newham and Southampton.

"A large casino can include as many as 150 fruit machines with a top jackpot of £4,000. This compares with up to 1,250 machines with unlimited jackpots in a super-casino…"
