Smokers Rush to Manitoba Casino

MANITOBA – As reported by the Winnipeg Sun: "Manitoba gamblers beat a path -- and a smoke trail -- to Brokenhead First Nation yesterday as the South Beach Casino opened for business.

"Gamblers filled the casino almost as soon as it opened, many of them with cigarettes in hand.

"…The casino, located near Grand Beach on Highway 59, is owned by seven First Nations and is one of two First Nations-run casinos in the province that allows smoking

"…Considerably smaller and more downscale than its Winnipeg counterparts, the casino features an art deco inspired decor, a restaurant, gift shop, lounge and stage area. Servers distributed free pop and bottles of water to gamblers seated at 300 slot machines and 12 gaming tables…"
