Slot revenue decreases at Foxwoods Resort Casino in August

15 September 2021

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Foxwoods Resort Casino is reporting slot revenue of $30.8 million for the month of August 2021. This results in a $7.7 million direct payment to the State of Connecticut in accordance with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s long-standing slot revenue contribution agreement. Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has deposited over $4.4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue directly into the state’s budget fund.

August kicked off with Foxwoods’ first annual Cocktail Carnival on 7 August. The experiential event transported guests under the Big Top to a playful carnival setting, where they sipped on imaginative cocktails and spirits while fire-breathers and stilt-walkers astounded their senses. The successful Cocktail Carnival event once again proved Foxwoods’ commitment to providing unique, sensational experiences for guests throughout the year.

On August 28 and 29, Foxwoods and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation celebrated Schemitzun, the annual feast of green corn and dance. The two-day affair honoring the 2021 harvest season featured live, family-friendly interactive demonstrations of traditional Pequot practices including fire-pit cooking, wampum and fish net making, loom beadwork, basketry and more. Traditional and contemporary tribal dance exhibitions, drums and of course, a traditional Native American feast welcomed guests of all kinds to celebrate the bounty of the season.

In August, Foxwoods excitedly announced the launch of the bubly Rainbow Suite – a vibrant, interactive suite at Foxwoods designed to celebrate diversity, equality and champion the LGBTQ+ community and culture. A modern and refreshing celebration of love, acceptance and progress, the suite features art from LGBTQ+ artists and interactive installations including the Instagram-ready Magic Mirror, a custom-designed centerpiece rainbow couch in the shape of bubly's signature smile, an in-suite bubly bar and selfie-worthy light-up rainbow wall made from iconic bubly cans.

In September, Foxwoods is partnering with DraftKings to launch Connecticut’s first sports betting bar. They announced two hiring days at Foxwoods on 8 September and 14 September to hire for positions including restaurant manager, servers, hosts, bartenders, cooks and more.

Also coming up in September is Foxwoods’ Drag Binglo - a night full of glow bingo, a fabulous drag queen host, and a DJ spinning high-energy hits. Hosted by local Connecticut drag superstar Loosey LaDuca, Drag Binglo promises attendees the chance to win over $30,000 in cash and prizes like concert tickets, surprise giveaways and more. Drag Binglo starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, 18 September.

There’s always something to do at Foxwoods, and this fall is no exception. Don’t miss family-favorite flicks under the stars at Foxwoods’ Night Out At The Drive-In - September showings include E.T. on September 19, The Incredibles on September 24, Beetlejuice on September 25 and Brave on September 26. For the adventure seekers, take leaf-peeping to new heights as you soar above the fall foliage on Foxwoods’ HighFlyer Zipline.
