Slash autographs guitar at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City21 May 2015(PRESS RELEASE) -- Grammy award-winning artist Slash created a piece of music history yesterday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City by autographing the Gibson Les Paul '58 Reissue guitar on display in the casino. The artist had previously presented the instrument to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas in 2007 to go with the Robert Knight photo exhibit. After inking his name on the guitar, Slash rocked fans in Anthem with his official band, Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. "Our eclectic rock 'n' roll memorabilia is a huge part of the Hard Rock experience, and what sets us apart," said Todd Moyer, general manager of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City. "Guests love the pieces of music history we have on display, and we're honored to add Slash's signed Gibson Les Paul '58 Reissue guitar to our collection." Slash — the iconic American rock guitarist, songwriter and film producer – has amassed album sales of over 100 million copies, garnered a Grammy award and seven Grammy nominations, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Slash helped create signature sounds like the guitar riff on No. 1 hits for Guns N' Roses "Sweet Child o' Mine" and "Welcome To The Jungle." After leaving the band, Slash went on to critical acclaim with Slash's Snakepit and global success with the supergroup Velvet Revolver before embarking on his own solo career. |
