Six Arrested in Malaysian Gambling Raid

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – As reported by the Malaysia Star: "A former magistrate, a Datuk, a veteran TV actor and an ex-policeman were among six people who were nabbed for illegal gambling at a luxury condominium in Jalan Sentul.

"Two others including a woman and an actor were also detained to assist in the probe.

"…It is learnt that a team of officers from the city police went to the condominium on Sunday evening after getting a complaint.

"…They are being investigated under Section 6(1) of the Common Gaming House Act which carries a maximum fine of RM5,000 or six months' jail or both."
