Singapore To Deliver Full Account of Casino Decision

SINGAPORE – As reported by the Channel NewsAsia: "The Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports has assured there will be a full and proper account when Parliament announces its decision on April 18 on the proposed integrated casino resort.

"Dr Vivian Balakrishnan said: 'Whichever way we decide, I think because this has been an issue of such concern and interest to so many Singaporeans, we will ensure a proper full accounting of all the views, whichever decision we take and that will take place in Parliament on the 18th.'

"Many big industry players have submitted proposals for the integrated resort on Sentosa island, as well as the Marina Bayfront.

"…Tourism contributes some 3-4 percent of Singapore's GDP and there are plans to boost this further…"
