Singapore may cap casino visits for locals

9 July 2012

SINGAPORE -- Singapore is introducing safeguards to quell problem gambling including a proposed visit cap to casinos, the Strait Times reported.

If you visit the casino more than 5 times each month the government will require you to demonstrate that you are not in financial dire straits, the report said.

Punters can then have their casino visits capped if they are deemed high risk for problem gambling, according to the Strait Times.

The government will work in conjunction with the National Council on Problem Gambling with this initiative, the report noted.
