Singapore Illegal Gambling Syndicate Busted

SINGAPORE – As reported by Channel News Asia: "Police smashed an illegal gambling syndicate after they arrested 13 people in an islandwide operation.

"In eight simultaneous raids on Saturday, CID officers from the Gambling Suppression Branch busted the illegal horse-betting and 4D syndicate.

"…The syndicate operated mainly at Toh Tuck, Hougang, Circuit Road, Lengkok Bahru, Lichi Ave, Kranji race course and Rangoon off-course betting centre.

"…Illegal bets would be collected in HDB flats and private apartments while the betting transactions were conducted through telephone calls…"
