Siberian gambling ban passes first reading

KRASNOYARSK, Russia – As reported by the Siberia Newslab: "The Legislative Assembly passed the bill 'About prohibition of gambling business in the Krasnoyarsk Territory' in the first reading.

"The bill was worked out after the adoption of the federal law imposing a ban on gambling games. Regional legislative bodies were given the time to work out local gambling bills by July 1, 2007.

"After the Krasnoyarsk Territory bill is passed in the second reading, the deputies will consider raising tax rates for gambling business to the maximum…"
