Shuffle Master Purchases VIP Gaming Solutions

LAS VEGAS -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Shuffle Master, Inc. (NASDAQ National Market: SHFL) announced today that it has purchased VIP Gaming Solutions Pty Limited, a privately held corporation with headquarters located in Sydney, Australia. Detailed terms of the transaction were not disclosed. As a result of this acquisition, Shuffle Master will acquire a broader direct sales presence within the Asia-Pacific region, and will expand its product offerings to include a variety of table game related equipment and accessories.

"The completion of this acquisition represents another important accomplishment for Shuffle Master because it allows us to immediately increase our direct sales presence in this key growth region," stated Mark L. Yoseloff, Ph.D., Shuffle Master Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. "As the rapid gaming expansion continues within the Asian-Pacific area, VIP will be an invaluable asset for our expanding international operations, and will enhance our existing sales and service locations. Along with the direct sales and services operations of our CARD subsidiary, we are solidifying our position as the preeminent gaming supply company for table games and related products throughout the world."

As part of the acquisition, Keith Thornton will maintain his current position as Managing Director and will oversee the region's satellite sales and service locations. With a broad range of gaming experience including a number of senior management roles for other gaming product suppliers, Thornton established VIP in early 2004 to offer casinos an integrated table games equipment and accessory solution.

"Keith's extensive experience will be key to Shuffle Master's expanded Pacific Rim operations, and he will play an integral role in the distribution of our products in this area," commented Paul C.
